I LOVE OATMEAL!
And I’m on a mission to make everyone else LOVE it too! Let me tell you why?
For one, it is a quite forgiving ingredient that can be transformed by your creativity! You can make it savory or sweet, but no matter how you do it, it will be beneficial to your health. Someone had the brilliant idea to make it OUR way, and give us options to customize and build our own blend! That someone is the amazing oat plant I had the pleasure of visiting called MyOatmeal!
MyOatmeal takes our orders online and ships your personalized oatmeal blends to your house! The website provides a super list broken down by items.
CUSTOMIZE BY:
- Types of oats:steel cut, rolled oats, gluten-free, mix of all blends, Creamy wheat.
- Oatmeal flavors such as: amaretto, apple pie, banana bread, bananas foster, etc (there is what feels like an endless amount of all natural, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO types)
- Dried fruits such as: apples, banana chips, chipped coconut, figs, dates, raisins, etc (basically any fruit you can think of that tastes good dried)
- Nuts and seeds: like chia, pecans, sliced almonds, yogurt pieces, carob chips, to name a few.
- Varied protein like: Greek yogurt powder, whey, casein, rice or pea protein.
- Sweeteners such as: brown or white cane sugar, honey granules, monk fruit, sucralose or nothing at all.
- Spices (my favorite): Antioxidant blend or 22 savory spices, bee pollen, cinnamon, cocoa powder, matcha green tea! This is awesome and makes your oatmeal truly exclusive!
For all of these you can choose a light, regular or heavy pour, which means you get more of what you LOVE and less of what you just want a hint of. Perfection if you ask me. I’m just in love with this concept!
The fun part is, as you’re building your blend you can see the nutritional facts come up on the screen, which means you can play around with the ingredients to get the exact numbers you are looking for. Check them out and see for yourself -> www.MyOatmeal.com!
For example: MyOatmeal Colorful Foodie Blend has approximately 161 calories per serving, 0mg of cholesterol, 26grams of carbs, 3 grams of protein and 6 grams of fat. The nutritional fact label comes attached to your personalized blend, and then you can name the bag!
If you’re not into oatmeal, think again and give it another shot.

My Basic Overnight Oat Recipe:
WHAT
1/2 cup oats of your customized MyOatmeal blend(or more depending on level of hunger)
1 cup milk of choice (I like almond or coconut)
1 tbs nuts (if you didn’t include them in your customization)
1 tbsp greek yogurt, unsweetened, low fat
1 tbsp nut butter (I love almond, but peanut butter or others are fine too)
HOW:
- Blend all ingredients in a jar or my favorite, an empty almond, peanut butter, nutella, or jar where the good stuff is almost out.
- Seal container and leave it in the fridge overnight. Your oats will soak and all the flavors will marry in the jar – in the morning, just eat it right out of the jar or place in a bowl and heat it up.
That is literally it. SO easy right? I like using fresh fruit such as berries for a fresh topping, which is just my preference but you can just eat it out of the jar in the mornings, especially when using your personalized MyOatmeal blend!
- LOOK OUT!
Steer clear from the oatmeal packages though because once you add sugar because your body will digest those faster and you’ll be hungry faster, or worse: craving sugar! You won’t get the the nice and slow digestion we are looking for to keep you fuller longer, am I right?
Happy customizing!
