Because sometimes it’s ok to have a GIANT AÇAÍ BOWL for lunch.
FUN fact: In Brazil, we usually eat Açaí with granola and banana, sometimes strawberries! It is also usual to top it off with either honey or condensed milk! Seriously! Brazilians are obsessed with everything too sweet for my taste, so I always skip out on the condensed milk and sometimes add the honey if I’m craving extra sweet. Substitute agave to keep it plant-based. Otherwise, this makes a truly wonderful smoothie as well (without all the fixings), but if you put it in a bowl, you’re just asking for it!
Honestly, I will have it any way it comes! This one is a bit americanized even, since I added dark berries and cashews. Acai is tiny fruit from the Amazon forest that has endless benefits for you, full of antioxidants, low in calories and delicious tasting! Why would you pass on that? Yes, you can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner without tipping the scale! Brazilians usually have it as an afternoon snack. We have acai pop up stores everywhere where acai ONLY is served, all day. Kinda cool right? Here is what I usually add to mine.
