Cold Fighting Super Citrus Juice

Share this with a friend who is stuck at home with the cold or flu, or with those who want to prevent it this Flu Season!

It never gets old: Cold Remedy – Vitamin C it is! One more day down but I suspect tomorrow I’ll be up and going strong again! But hey, don’t wait till you feel the Cold and Flu symptoms to dive head first into a big glass of freshly squeezed glass of citrus!

Fruits such as oranges are 69.7 mg Vitamin C, but this actually less than than many other common fruits and veggies, which of course should be included in your daily diet! As a general rule, the current daily adequate intake for vitamin C is 75mg for females and 95mg for males. I try to exceed the daily intake usually but when I’m sick, BOOM, I to it the charts!

Vitamin C is not just important to help cure or prevent colds, but it is an essential nutrient required by the body for the development and maintenance of scar tissue, blood vessels, and cartilage. It is a powerful antioxidant and helps lessen oxidative stress to the body and is thought to lower cancer risk.

FYI: Other High vitamin C foods you should be consuming (besides the obvious citrus) in your Daily Diet include:

Bell peppers
Dark leafy greens
Kiwis
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Brussels sprouts
Mixed berries
Tomatoes
Peas
Pineapple
Mango
Papaya

Try to include a couple of these throughout your meals each day!
If you have a strong cold like me, good luck! Let’s kick it’s bootie!

Xoxo, Ana
